History

Once a stately private home in the late 19th century, this beautifully restored Victorian terrace house in the heart of Darlinghurst, Sydney, has been reimagined as a small luxury boutique hotel. Reopening its doors in 2025 as an intimate, design-led escape, Medusa Hotel is truly boutique, with just 18 thoughtfully-curated rooms and suites.

Rich historic character is still felt throughout, with striking heritage details around every corner - from the grand front entry door with etched leadlight, to soaring ceilings, ornate archways and staircase, tessellated tiles, and cast iron lacework verandah.

Despite being considered Sydney’s most style-conscious hotel, Medusa still feels like a hidden gem - where comfort meets creativity, and where each stay feels like a delightful new discovery.
