Little Elizabeth, 1835
History
Little Elizabeth, on Elizabeth Street in North Hobart dates to 1835, when Hobart Town was a tiny but steadily growing port with a population of around 13,000. With the earliest streets following the contours of the Derwent River, Hobart Town linked whaling, sealing, and trade routes across the Pacific and to Europe. Today, Elizabeth Street is home to some of Hobart’s best restaurants, cafes & bars, and within easy walking distance to the city centre.
This adorable cottage still retains much of its Georgian heritage charm, with the original entry door, tall windows, high ceilings and detailed woodwork. A quiet and comfortable inner city retreat, Little Elizabeth is close to everything Hobart has to offer. Experienced hosts Laura and Kate - who also host Little Arthur in Hobart - have added thoughtful additions for guests, including Tasmanian-made products, to make your stay extra special.
