The Little House in Marburg, 1907

History

Brimming with heritage charm, The Little House in Marburg is a classic Queenslander cottage dating to the early 1900s, just 45 minutes from Brisbane. One of the oldest residences in the historic village of Marburg, the cottage was built by the Bielefeld family, who owned the village’s general store - now Scotland Yard Antiques.

Surrounded by rambling gardens, the cottage’s front facade is set high, with ornate fretwork along the wide verandah. Lovingly restored, original heritage features continue inside with soaring 14 foot ceilings, leadlight casement windows, polished floorboards, and timber-lined ceilings & walls.

A long-time collector of antiques & vintage, Allyson, your host, has styled each room with a handpicked selection of beautiful authentic pieces that bring the cottage’s history to life.

Everything was thought of, from farm-fresh eggs, beautiful teas, coffee from local roasters...even homemade lavender bath salts for a relaxing soak in the clawfoot tub.
